DENTAL HYGIENE

Caring for your pet's teeth is very important, as poor dental hygiene affects not only the mouth and teeth but can also have a detrimental effect on the overall health of your pet.

You can clean your pet's teeth with a toothbrush designed specifically for animals, and there is a range of chews and toys available to assist in maintaining a healthy mouth. Dental procedures are performed under a general anaesthetic to ensure the comfort of the animal as well as to ensure the dental procedure is thorough. The teeth are completely cleaned and any loose, broken, or rotten teeth are extracted if necessary.

Why maintain good dental hygiene?

Some of the conditions of poorly maintained dental hygiene include bad breath, bleeding gums, as well as loose, broken, and/or dis-coloured teeth. The buildup of plaque is the leading cause of gum disease!
